Ingredients

  • 3 bananas, brown and mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2–1 cup sugar (adjust to your preferred sweetness)
  • 1 egg, whisked with a fork
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl, stirring by hand until everything is evenly blended.
  3. Transfer the batter to a greased 9×4×4-inch bread pan.
  4. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until the top is browned and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Begin checking around the 50-minute mark.
  5. Let the loaf cool before slicing.
Notes
  • A cup of chocolate chips can be mixed into the batter. If you choose to add them, consider reducing the sugar to 1/2 or 3/4 cup.
