- Can I use a pre-made coleslaw mix instead of shredding cabbage and carrots myself?
Absolutely! If you’re short on time, using a pre-packaged coleslaw mix is a great shortcut. It’ll save you the hassle of shredding cabbage and carrots while still giving you that classic slaw crunch.
- How can I stop the apples from browning before mixing them in?
No worries! Simply toss the apple slices in a little lemon juice or apple cider vinegar right after slicing. This helps preserve their color and keeps them fresh until you’re ready to mix everything together.
- Is Greek yogurt a must for the dressing, or can I substitute it with something else?
Greek yogurt is the creamy base that adds a nice tang to the dressing. But if you don’t have it on hand, feel free to swap it with regular yogurt or even sour cream for a similar texture and taste.
- Can I make this Apple Slaw ahead of time?
Definitely! You can prepare the slaw a few hours ahead of serving. Just store it in an airtight container in the fridge, but don’t add the dressing until right before serving to keep everything nice and crunchy.
- What can I use if I don’t have sliced almonds?
No sliced almonds? No problem! You can use chopped walnuts, pecans, or even sunflower seeds. Each option will add a delicious crunch, so pick what you have or what you love the most!
