On nights when time feels tight, I love turning to this Air Fryer Sausage and Potatoes meal.
It’s incredibly simple to throw together, yet it delivers warm, hearty comfort in every bite.
As everything cooks, your kitchen fills with the savory aroma of golden potatoes, sweet onion,
and perfectly crisped sausage—no pots or pans required.
Your family will appreciate how flavorful and filling it is,
and you’ll appreciate how effortless it was to make from start to finish.

For the Sausage & Potatoes
- Small Golden Potatoes – You’ll need 1.5 lbs, quartered. These get beautifully crispy in the air fryer while staying tender inside.
- Sweet Onion – One large onion, cut into big chunks for sweetness and extra flavor.
- Oil – 2 tablespoons to help everything brown and crisp.
- Salt & Pepper – Add to taste for simple seasoning.
- Favorite Seasoning Blend – Any all-purpose blend works (the Costco No-Salt Seasoning is a great choice).
- Fully Cooked Sausage – 12–16 ounces, sliced into 1″ rounds. Since it’s pre-cooked, it reheats and browns quickly.
For the Drizzle
- Whole Grain Mustard – 2 tablespoons for tangy flavor.
- Honey – 2 tablespoons to add sweetness that balances the savory sausage and potatoes.

- Combine the potatoes and onion with the oil, salt, pepper, and chosen seasoning. Place the mixture into a nonstick-sprayed air fryer basket.

- Stir together the whole grain mustard and honey. Pour the mixture over the hot sausage and potatoes right before serving.

1. Can I use different potatoes?
Absolutely! Use whatever you’ve got — golds, reds, baby potatoes, even sweet potatoes. Just keep the pieces roughly the same size so they cook evenly. Sweet potatoes may need an extra minute or two, but the air fryer does all the hard work.
2. Do I really need fully cooked sausage?
Yep, it makes life much easier. Fully cooked sausage just needs a quick blast in the air fryer to get those caramelized edges. If you use raw sausage, you’ll need to cook it separately first — we’re aiming for easy dinners here, not extra dishes.
3. My potatoes sometimes come out unevenly cooked. What am I doing wrong?
Nothing major — just make sure they’re cut evenly and don’t overcrowd the basket. A quick toss halfway through cooking works wonders. Think: golden, crispy edges and soft centers. Exactly what we want.
4. Can I add extra veggies or switch the seasoning?
Oh yes. This recipe is incredibly flexible. Throw in peppers, zucchini, broccoli, whatever needs to be used up in the fridge. And seasoning? Go wild. Cajun, Italian, lemon pepper — it all works. Just don’t pile in too much or the basket gets crowded.
5. What’s the best way to reheat leftovers?
Air fryer, always. A few minutes at 350°F brings back the crispiness like magic. Microwave works in a pinch, but you’ll miss that lovely golden crunch. Trust me — the air fryer revival is worth the extra couple of minutes.
